Rodin is a name almost everyone should know, as well as everyone’s parent’s and grandparent’s. This man typically needs no introduction, especially in Philadelphia, where we have a museum especially for his work. One of our clients is part of this fantastic event sponsored by the Philadelphia Museum of Art and we’d like to spread the word for The Rodin’s Renaissance. It’s a fundraiser garden party to support the continueing restoration of the Rodin Museum and Garden. Check out the Art Museum’s website for details!

Make up is a girl’s best friend. It can be a way of personal artistic expression without being an artist by trade. It can boost your confidence for date night, girls night, a job interview or just your everyday wear. It can also hide and help heal imperfections, and we all have them! The ideas are endless but to do it well takes product knowledge, experimentation and practice. Whether you prefer a more traditional look or a look that pops, mixing neutrals and vibrant color hues can be combined in ways to add pizazz to just about everyone’s tastes and personality. Lashes have been a focus for decades. Now more than ever, the options are endless to draw more attention to your eyes. There are products to enhance the length and fullness of lashes, lash perms to eliminate the pinch of a curler, lash tinting to give more depth to your natural look (perfect for swimming and fair haired beauties) and lash extensions in so many styles, from runway boldness to subtle, sweet looks.

Brushes are key to successful make up applications, for multiple reasons. The use of sponges can transfer bacteria and applies heavy to the skin where a brush is much easier to keep clean and gives an even application of color and shade. When searching for a good brush, consider the type of hair used. Is it synthetic or animal hair? Pony, Goat, Squirrel, Sable and Badger hair are the most common and have a variety of reasons behind choosing one over the other. Nylon, or Taklon, is less expensive, easy to clean and is great for cream make ups. Look for durable metals that will hold the bristles firmly in place and stay secure to the handle.
